Homecoming by Saurav Bhattacharyya
Life is a journey where change is the only eternal. People change, priorities change, seasons change and even our surroundings change but the one thing that will never change is our family. In this hush hour of life we tend to forget our family and take it for granted. But family is the only thing that supports us till the end and family is what we live for. My family stays at a distant village from me: I had to study in town and hence I seldom visit my relatives. During those smalls visits I used to notice the same routine of my parents: my father, who is has been service man for more than 20 years and my mother, who has a life which has been the same as she had years back when she joined as a school teacher. Nothing has changed except few things that I can notice: I can see my parents growing older, I can see the wrinkles on my mothers face and the grey hairs that have sprung up in the course of time. As I notice these things it makes me nostalgic. I realize the things that change and as I notice these things it makes me nostalgic and makes me accept the reality that I have become more matured that I ever was.
